# Bank feeds and payment matching

> Connect your bank through Lean or Tarabut, or upload statements, and let Alya Books match incoming payments to invoices.

Bank feeds bring your bank transactions into Alya Books and match them to open invoices (money in) and accepted supplier invoices (money out). You confirm a suggestion with one click and the payment is recorded; you can undo it at any time.

## Get transactions in

**Live feed.** Under **Settings → Payments → Bank feeds**, add a connection with **Lean Technologies** or **Tarabut** (enter the credentials from the provider) or the **Simulated** feed for trying things out. Alya Books pulls transactions when you save, when you click **Sync bank feed** on the Bank page, and once a day.

**Statement upload.** On the **Bank** page click **Upload statement** and choose the CSV or Excel export from your online banking. Alya Books recognises the usual columns (date, amount or debit/credit, description, reference, counterparty name and IBAN) and skips rows it has already imported, so you can upload overlapping statements.

## How matching works

For each transaction Alya Books scores the open invoices in the same direction (credits against your invoices, debits against supplier invoices):

- the invoice number appearing in the bank text is the strongest signal;
- an amount equal to the outstanding balance, the counterparty name matching the customer, the TRN in the text and a date shortly after the issue date add to the score.

Transactions with a good candidate become **suggested**; the rest stay **unmatched**. When **Confirm high-confidence matches automatically** is on (Settings → Payments), a transaction whose invoice number is in the text, whose amount equals the balance and that has no close runner-up is confirmed without you.

## Review on the Bank page

The **Bank** page (System group) lists transactions with their status and best suggestion.

- **Confirm** records the payment on the suggested invoice (a smaller amount becomes a partial payment).
- **Change** or **Match…** lets you pick another invoice or supplier invoice.
- **Ignore** hides fees, transfers and anything that is not an invoice payment; **Restore** brings it back.
- **Undo** on a matched transaction removes the payment again.
- **Re-run matching** rescores everything still open, for example after you issued the missing invoice.

Payments recorded from the feed carry the source *bank feed* and the bank reference, and the `bank.transaction_matched` webhook fires.
