# Export documents as zip or CSV

> Download PDFs, PINT AE XML and attachments as a zip, or a CSV of any list view.

Alya Books exports documents in two ways: a zip with one folder per invoice, and a CSV of the rows shown in a list. Use the zip for archiving and audits, the CSV for spreadsheets and accounting.

## Zip of invoices

1. Go to **Invoices**.
2. Narrow the list with the filter chips and search, or tick the invoices you want.
3. Click **Export** → **Zip of this view (PDF, XML, files)**, or **Zip of N selected** when rows are ticked.
4. In the dialog, tick what to include: **PDF**, **PINT AE XML (with embedded files)** and **Attached files as separate files**.
5. Click the export button. The zip contains one folder per invoice, named after the invoice number, with `<number>.pdf`, `<number>.xml` and an `attachments` folder.

A message at the end tells you how many files were written and lists any invoice that could not be rendered.

## CSV of a list

Both exports respect the current filters and search.

## Other documents

- Quotes and order confirmations: open the document and use **Preview** to view or save it, or **Send by email**. Their PDF needs an HTML-to-PDF service on your environment; without one, Preview shows the printable version, which you can print or save from the browser.
- Cover letters and reminders: **Download PDF** from the row menu on their lists.
- Single invoices: **Download PDF** and **Download XML** from the invoice row menu.

## Good to know

- The zip is built in your browser; large views take a moment and show progress.
- Invoice PDFs in the zip are drawn by Alya Books: the same file as **Download PDF**, email attachments and the API, in each invoice's design.
- Archived invoices are exported only when the **Archived** chip is selected.
- Integrations can fetch the same files through the API with `GET /invoices/{id}?format=pdf` or `?format=xml`.
