# Online payments

> Set up Stripe, Telr, PayTabs or Tap under Settings → Payments so invoices can be paid by link.

**Settings → Payments** holds your payment gateways (for [pay by link](/help/en/invoices/pay-by-link)) and your [bank feeds](/help/en/account-and-setup/bank-feeds). Only owners and admins see and edit this tab; other members only see which gateways exist.

## Add a gateway

1. Click **Gateway** and choose the provider: **Stripe**, **Telr**, **PayTabs**, **Tap** or **Simulated** (for trying the flow; no money moves).
2. Choose **Test** or **Live** mode and enter the credentials from the provider's dashboard:
- Stripe: secret key (`sk_test_…` / `sk_live_…`) and the webhook signing secret.
- Telr: store id, authentication key and the webhook secret; tick *test transactions* while testing.
- PayTabs: profile id, server key and region.
- Tap: secret key and the webhook secret.
3. Tick **Default gateway** if it should be preselected on invoices, and **Active**.
4. Save. The card shows the **webhook URL** for the gateway; register it in the provider's dashboard so payments are confirmed even if the buyer closes the page before returning.

Credentials are stored in your organization and never shown to other members or sent to the API.

## Good to know

- Test-mode gateways are for test documents and trials; live invoices use live gateways.
- Payments confirmed by a gateway appear on the invoice with method *online*, source *gateway* and the provider's reference. Deleting such a payment does not reopen the link.
- The public pay page lives at `/pay/<token>` of your Alya Books app URL.
