Add bank details
Enter the account buyers should pay into. It is printed on invoices and included in the e-invoice payment block.
Bank details tell your buyers where to send payment. They appear in the payment section of the PDF and in the PINT AE XML, and every credit transfer on an invoice uses this account unless you enter another one.
Steps
- Go to Settings → Bank details. Owners and admins can edit.
- Fill in the Bank Account Details card:
- Bank Name and Branch, for example
Emirates NBD,Dubai Main Branch. - Account Name: the account holder, usually your legal name.
- Account Number.
- IBAN, for example
AE070331234567890123456. Spaces are removed on save. - SWIFT/BIC Code, for example
EBILAEAD.
- Bank Name and Branch, for example
- Click Save Changes at the top of the page.
IBAN check
- Alya Books checks the IBAN as you type: length, format and check digits, for 127 countries. While you type it shows how far you are, for example "12 of 23 characters", then Valid IBAN or what is wrong, such as a typo in the check digits.
- For a UAE IBAN, Alya Books finds the bank from the 3-digit bank code and fills in Bank Name and SWIFT/BIC Code when they are empty. It never overwrites what you typed. The UAE bank list is dated and marked "unverified", so check the filled-in bank. For banks that have merged, the bank that holds the accounts today is shown, for example "First Abu Dhabi Bank (formerly First Gulf Bank)".
- For other countries there is no bank lookup unless the platform operator has switched on a lookup service.
- A SWIFT/BIC code must have 8 or 11 characters.
- An invalid IBAN or BIC blocks saving.
Good to know
- The onboarding wizard already asks for account holder, IBAN, bank and SWIFT. Anything entered there is shown here.
- On an invoice you can add several payment methods and use another account for one of them. There a plain account number is accepted and shown as "Not an IBAN; used as an account number".
- Whether bank details are printed is controlled per design under Settings → Designs & texts.
- Documents already issued keep the bank details they were created with.
