Receive e-invoices through Peppol
Fetch documents addressed to your Peppol ID from your ASP connection.
From Phase 1 of the UAE mandate, businesses must receive e-invoices as well as issue them. Suppliers send PINT AE documents over the Peppol network to your participant ID, 0235:<TIN> (the first 10 digits of your TRN), and your accredited service provider (ASP) hands them to Alya Books.
Fetch documents
- Go to Incoming Invoices.
- Click Fetch from Peppol.
- Any document received arrives with the channel peppol in the Import log tab and as a new row with the status To review.
Received documents go through the same pipeline as uploads: PINT AE validation, a check that the buyer TRN is yours, duplicate detection, a visualisation and the supplier contact.
What each connection mode does
| Mode under Settings → E-invoicing | Fetch from Peppol |
|---|---|
| Test (simulated) | The button reads Simulate received invoice: choose a scenario (standard, standard with supplier PDF, mixed VAT, reverse charge, credit note, USD, wrong buyer TRN, wrong totals, duplicate) and a supplier, and the documents arrive through this same pipeline. See Simulate received invoices. |
| Taxilla UAT | Asks Taxilla's test Access Point for every document received on your Peppol ID in the last 30 days, skips the ones already imported, and runs the new ones through the pipeline. |
| Taxilla Live | The same against the live Access Point. |
Each received document arrives with the files Taxilla kept for it: the Tax Data Document it reported to the FTA and the acknowledgements, stored with the invoice. Alya Books also fetches on its own every 15 minutes for companies connected to UAT or live; Fetch from Peppol is for looking now. A document whose flow at Taxilla is not complete yet is reported as "No document flow yet" and picked up on the next fetch.
Good to know
- Your Peppol ID is set during onboarding and under Settings → E-invoicing. Suppliers need it to address documents to you.
- The Invoice receipt card under Settings → Sending summarises Peppol receipt next to your inbox address.
- Owners, admins and accountants can fetch; viewers cannot.
- The toast after a fetch reads "N document(s) received from Peppol" with how many validated, or "Nothing new on Peppol".
- An invoice you send to your own Peppol ID (sender and receiver the same) comes back through this fetch as a received invoice, which is a convenient way to test receiving in UAT.
- Only documents addressed to your own Peppol ID are imported. If two companies were given the same Taxilla credentials, each still sees only its own documents; the others are reported as "addressed to another company" and left alone.
- Sample documents from Test mode are ordinary incoming invoices in your organization. Archive or delete them when you no longer need them.
