Central Bank exchange rates
Look up the UAE Central Bank rates against the dirham for any date, the same rates Alya Books uses on invoices in other currencies.
The Exchange Rates page shows the rates the Central Bank of the UAE publishes for VAT ("Exchange rates against UAE Dirham for VAT related obligations"). These are the rates Alya Books fills in on invoices in other currencies and uses to report them in AED.
- In the sidebar, open Exchange Rates (System group, below VAT Return).
- Pick a Date. Today appears when another date is picked and takes you back.
- Type in Currency to filter by code or name, for example
USD,euroorrupee. - Read the table: AED per 1 unit, Units per 1 AED, and the change since the previous published day.
Good to know:
- The Central Bank publishes rates on working days, around 6 pm UAE time. For a weekend, a holiday, or today before publication, the page shows the last working day's rates and says so.
- A day not stored yet is fetched from the Central Bank when you pick it. The time it was fetched is shown above the table.
- The US dollar is pegged at 3.6725 AED.
- On an invoice, the rate of the date of supply is used: the tax point date if set, else the delivery date, else the issue date. You can still type your own rate on the invoice.
- The page is read-only and open to every member.
