Guides for Alya Books and UAE e-invoicing

Onboard with Taxilla on EmaraTax and connect Alya Books

Link your company to Taxilla as your accredited service provider on the FTA's EmaraTax portal, get your Peppol ID, then enter the credentials in Alya Books.

Alya Books reports your e-invoices to the FTA through Taxilla, an accredited service provider (ASP). Before the first real submission, the FTA must know that Taxilla is your ASP. You do that once on the EmaraTax portal; it takes about ten minutes and is free of charge.

    Before you start

    • Your company is registered with the FTA and has a TRN. Your TIN is the first 10 digits of the TRN. A company that is not registered must first obtain a TIN on EmaraTax.
    • You can log in to EmaraTax with the UAE Pass of an authorised person.
    • Each company or government entity onboards with one ASP for all its e-invoicing. Each member of a tax group onboards separately with its own TIN.
    1. Go to https://eservices.tax.gov.ae/ and log in with UAE Pass.
    2. If you manage several taxable persons, select the one you are onboarding. Its TIN is shown on the dashboard under Your TIN for e-Invoicing Onboarding.
    3. In the left menu click E-INVOICING. Read the service page, tick I confirm that I have read the above instructions, and click Start.
    4. On the List of ASPs for onboarding tab, type Taxilla in the search box and select the Taxilla row.
    5. Click Proceed to ASP. EmaraTax warns that you are leaving the FTA system; click Yes.
    6. You arrive on Taxilla's Linking Request page. Enter the email address registered on EmaraTax, your TIN, the country and the registered mobile number, accept the terms and click Verify Applicant Details, then submit.
    7. Taxilla generates your Peppol ID and registers it with the FTA. The page reads User Onboarding Successful and shows the Peppol ID, 0235: followed by your TIN (TRN 100234567890003 gives 0235:1002345678). Note it down.
    8. Back on EmaraTax, open E-INVOICING → Linkage Status with ASP. The Taxilla row must read Linked with today's date.

Part 2: activate your Taxilla portal and get your credentials

    1. After the link is confirmed, Taxilla sends an account activation email to the EmaraTax address. Click Click here to Setup account, choose a password (at least 10 characters with an uppercase letter, a number and a special character) and click Activate Account.
    2. Sign in to the Taxilla Peppol Access Point Portal with the username shown and that password.
    3. Open Client API in the portal's left menu. The Client ID and Client Secret were generated on activation; copy both. Treat them like a password.
    4. Taxilla has a test environment (UAT) and a live one. The portal you were activated on tells you which; enter its credentials under the matching mode in Alya Books. If you were given both, you have two sets.

    Part 3: connect Alya Books

    1. Go to Settings → Company profile and check that Peppol ID is exactly the one Taxilla generated, scheme 0235. Save.
    2. Go to Settings → E-invoicing, choose Taxilla UAT for testing or Taxilla Live, paste the Client ID and Client Secret, leave Base URL empty, Save connection, then Test connection. In UAT, issue one or two test invoices and follow them to Accepted.
    3. Switch to Taxilla Live with the live credentials when you are ready for real submissions. Live documents cannot be deleted, only corrected with credit or debit notes.

    Good to know

    • Reverification: when your TRN, contact details or certificate change, open Linkage Status with ASP, click the three-dot menu on the Linked row and choose Reverify. Your Peppol ID does not change, and nothing changes in Alya Books.
    • Deboarding: the same menu offers Deboard. It removes the link and stops e-invoicing from Alya Books and from any other software, so do it only when closing the business or moving to another ASP.
    • Timeline: businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more must have appointed an ASP by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027; all other businesses on 1 July 2027; government entities on 1 October 2027.
    • EmaraTax and Taxilla screens belong to the FTA and to Taxilla; if a step looks different from this article, follow the screen and tell us at support@alyabooks.ai so we can update it.
