Test documents and the simulated ASP

Alya Books offers two ways to practise without affecting your books or the FTA: a per-document Test document flag, and an organization-wide Test (simulated) e-invoicing mode in which nothing leaves the app.

Mark a document as a test

1. In the editor's right panel, under General settings, switch on Test document.
2. A TEST badge appears in the header, on the paper and in the invoice list.
3. Test documents are never counted in the dashboard, the list statistics, Analytics or Compliance. Use the Test chip on Invoices to find them.

Simulate submissions

1. Go to Settings → E-invoicing and choose Test (simulated).
2. Pick a Test scenario: Always accept, Slow processing, Rejected by Taxilla, Rejected by buyer or Rejected by FTA.
3. Save. The banner on Invoices and in the editor now reads "Test mode".
4. Validate and submit an invoice as usual. The E-invoicing Submissions card shows a TEST badge, the scenario, and the timeline behaving as chosen: for example, "Slow processing" advances one step per status check, and "Rejected by Taxilla" returns a sample BR-AE error.
5. Sample downloads (Taxilla PDF, XML, JSON report, MLS files) are marked as mock content.

Reset a test submission

Invoices submitted in test mode are locked like real ones. To edit or resubmit one, click Reset test submission on the E-invoicing Submissions card. The test submissions are deleted and the invoice returns to Validated. This is only possible because nothing was sent to Taxilla.

Good to know:

• The test flag and the test mode are independent: you can submit a real document in test mode, or a test document in Live mode. Keep test documents flagged so they stay out of your reports.
• Notifications from test submissions carry a "[TEST]" suffix.
• Duplicate clears the test flag on the copy.
• API keys created as test keys create test invoices and list only test invoices.
• Move to Taxilla UAT once you have credentials from Taxilla, and to Taxilla Live only after UAT passes. Submit one low-value real invoice first.
• Only owners and admins can change the e-invoicing mode.
